Having different types of links to your websites is crucial to Google and the other search engines recognising the trust that other sites are placing on yours, and therefore moving it up the search engine rankings. So alongside the article marketing links, directory submissions etc, we strongly recommend obtaining a mixture of other types of links.
Here at Sentient SEO we constantly look for the most effective way to obtain strong links to your websites. Something that is currently working well for us is utilising the opportunity to place links withing profiles created at various Web 2.0 sites. We have found that these are more likely to stick (i.e. not get deleted), as they are not displayed in public view and therefore are not seen as spamming.
The problem with placing these type of links is that it can sometimes take Google to index them, if at all. We have a solution to this, in that we combine all of the URLs where each of these links are placed into one big RSS feed, which we then submit to around 20 RSS Aggregators. This ensures that the links have a much stronger chance of being indexed.
We offer a couple of options. For both options, 3 anchor text links are placed on each page, so if you go for the 30 link option, you get 3 on each page, so you actually get 90 links. This therefore works better if you have 3 different URLs and 3 different keywords to target.
